Newest HEAT Shelters operating at full capacity

Shelters

It has only been a few weeks but already the two newest emergency shelters opened by the City and the Province are operating at full capacity. The high demand of the two newest shelters, located at 677 East Broadway and 1435 Granville, have demonstrated the need for housing in neighbourhoods across Vancouver, and not just in the Downtown Eastside.

The City has also opened two more shelters, one in the West End and one in Kits. The winter shelters are low barrier, meaning they allow people to stay with shopping carts and pets. Each shelter provides 40 people with a bed, two meals and operates 24/7. They will remain open until April 30. Take a look at this article for more information.
