Ken Clement

School Board
"I want to enhance our school system’s ability to provide an opportunity to succeed for every student, no matter where they live in the city."

Ken Clement has resided in Vancouver for twenty five years and is a member of the Ktunaxa First Nation (Cranbrook). In 2008 Ken was elected to the Vancouver School Board.

As an urban Aboriginal person who attended a residential school, he firmly believes he can empower all Vancouver residents and serve their best interests on the School Board.  He is committed to fostering greater respect for cultural diversity by creating safe spaces within the school system for all, giving a stronger voice to Parent Advisory Councils, continuing the support of community neighbourhood schools, and increasing support services for vulnerable youth.

In addition, Ken’s employment and volunteer experiences have given him direct opportunities to work with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and allowed him to be a voice on issues of health, affordable housing, and social justice issues.
