Tony Tang

City Council
“We want to make Vancouver more affordable - not just housing, but the costs that families face on a regular basis like property taxes and community programs.”

Tony Tang is a long-time Vancouver resident who has been devoted to community service for over 20 years.  A professional engineer with a Master’s degree from UBC, he also studied art through the Alberta College of Art, and has over 22 years experience working in the home building and construction industry.

Tony has a vast array of experience and knowledge when it comes to city issues, particularly on the issue of housing. Twice appointed to the Vancouver Board of Variance to adjudicate appeals regarding zoning and other by-law matters, Tony has served as Chair for the past two years. He has also volunteered for consultation groups including the Quilchena Park upgrade and the rezoning of RS-5 and RS-6 in Vancouver.

A compassionate civic volunteer with a keen interest in fairness and balanced approaches, Tony wants to make Vancouver more affordable for all families, through smart, pragmatic management of land-use planning, city budgets, and service delivery.

Tony lives with his wife and their rambunctious dog in the Quilchena neighbourhood, where he has lived for over 18 years.
